2,500 years ago, that was when Gautama Buddha was still alive. One day, Gautama Buddha, accompanied by his disciples, was begging for a meal. Some little kids were playing with sands by the path. A lovely little girl saw the Buddha leading his disciples and approaching this way from afar with some naughtiness, she held the sands from the ground in her hands, stood before the Buddha and poured the sands into the Buddha’s begging bowl. Humbly, Gautama Buddha accepted her sands. Śāriputra, the Buddha’s chief disciple, was not happy about this , thinking that how this little girl dared to tricked the Bhagavan with sands and dirt. On the way, the disciple asked: “Great Bhagavan, the little girl put sands and dirt into your bowl. How could you tolerate her mischief?” The Buddha smiled and answered: “That was your ignorance. Thousands of years later, her karma would be fulfilled, and she would become the leader of Cīna-sthāna in the east(China). If I did not accept her sands, she would try to break the Dharma. I accepted her sands, and so we’re tied in a good karma. When she becomes the king, she will become an adherent of the Dharma.” The girl would one day be known as Wu Zetian, the one and only empress regnant in Chinese history. Wu Zetian delivered a girl. Out of courtesy, Empress Wang came to visit her and tickled the little girl on the crib, yet when the empress just stepped out of the room , Wu Zetian strangled her own daughter to death and covered her body with the quilt, just as usual. She left as if nothing happened. The cunning and vicious consort imputed to Empress Wang. Empress Wang and Consort Xiao, both of whom were the opponents of Wu Zetian, were cruelly killed.
