Throughout these years, there were some things that we saw and heard, which were incredible phenomenon that could not be explained by science. These matters of ghosts Happened a lot in China and quite a few in other countries. We heard a lot about it in the states. The President of Dallas Buddhist Association, Kuang-Ming Ko, used to tell me that the house his father-in-law lives in Los Angeles is a haunted house. They might have bought it in a cheap price and have no ideal in the beginning about it is haunted. After that, they realized the place his father- and mother-in-law live appears to have the situation that the lights will go out all of a sudden every evening. When there is no one in the room, the door and windows open by themselves. They hear someone walking in the living room at night. It is very terrifying. One afternoon, when his father-in-law was having a shower, he heard someone talking. He immediately sensed the ghost was there. He asked the ghost, “What is your name?” Unexpectedly, the ghost told him the name. He was too shocked to put on his clothes before running out. There are all true stories, not fake information. Both his father- and mother-in-law died, but I have met them in the past. There are many haunted houses in the states. Some of these houses end up with no one daring to live in them so the selling prices are cheap. Some of them have been put on sales for many years but never sold. Therefore, we cannot say that matters that are unable to be explained scientifically are without... Frankly speaking, the scope of science has its limitation. There are a lot of things that are unable to be explained with science. Science is not everything. We must understand it and determine not to offend living beings. We shall get along with living beings and treat them equally.
