[…]In addition, according to the record in “Master Daoxuan’s Harmony Commentaries of the Deva”, the Deva told Master Daoxuan that Chengdu area in Sichuan used to be in the ocean in the past. Someone built a statue of Prabhutaratna by Xi’er River. At the moment, one man from Chengdu went there for business. On the journey back, the God of Sea tossed over the ship. The man and the statue sunk into the sea together. Later on, in Jin Dynasty, a monk saw a mound on the ground. He flattened it, but it rose again immediately. He felt something strange about it. After digging it for the depth of more than 11 feet, human skeleton and the status were found together. The skeleton was very big. It was a few times of the size of human skeleton today. […] Judging from it, the so-called giants are human beings more than 10,000 years old in human age. From the point of view of Buddhist scriptures, there are four long periods of time in the world, including formation, existence, destruction, and emptiness. Since the period of time of formation, the earth has been through unlimited billion years. After the Deva of Light-Sound came to the earth, the extension of human beings has been discontinued. Therefore, the term of “prehistoric age” is not correct. Of course, some of technology and civilization among this period of might be interrupted. Some people might have a doubt. Why have the archaeologists never found the human beings from dozens of billion years ago? Because human beings at that moment are too many years away from now. Their traces are deeply buried under the ground. The modern archaeology usually only digs several dozens or hundreds of meters under the ground. If they can reach the several dozens of hundreds of kilometers under the ground, we might be able to find their traces.
